Dragonsavers Credit Union was established in 2003 following the merger of five credit unions in Rhondda Cynon Taff. As an independent mutual organisation, Dragonsavers is owned by its members. It operates from three branches and more than forty community collection points in the County Borough. It has assets of £1.9 million.
Its principal activity is the provision of simple safe and affordable loans funded by members savings.
The preference is for an entrepreneur with experience of growing their own business, an experienced Non-Executive Director, Director or Partner with proven business acumen.
Applications are invited from quick thinking industrious individuals who possesses-
- The ability to make decisions on broad strategic and policy matters
- Experience of contributing to a Board and committee meetings at a senior level
- Expertise in one or more of the following; Marketing, IT, HR/Personnel, Risk/Compliance, Mutuals/Co-operatives, consumer interest, corporate governance, harnessing and motivating others modern business techniques.
The Board meets monthly, in Pontyclun. A time commitment of a minimum of 2 days a month is required, and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. Membership of Dragonsavers is a requirement of the role.
