How to Conduct a Stress Risk Assessment

Date: 23rd February
Location: Colwyn Bay

We have a few places left for our FREE " How to Conduct a Stress Risk Assessment " Workshop on Thursday 23rd February 2011.

This workshop offers an opportunity to learn about How to conduct stress risk assessments.

Stress is the number one cause of long term sickness absence (CIPD Simply Health 2011 Absence Management Survey) and is a major contributor to the condition known as ‘Presenteeism’. Both of these have a damaging effect on employee and organisational performance, as well as causing untold harm to the employee and their family. Creating a workplace in which employees thrive – both physically and mentally is an important feature of good employment practice. This course will encourage participants to take a proactive position on stress at work and use a risk assessment process to identify stressors and then, with the engagement of employees, take steps to minimise their impact.

The aims of the course are:

  1. To raise awareness of an organisational approach to preventing stress at work
  2. To understand the implications of the HSE’s approach to stress
  3. To recognise when to conduct a risk assessment for stress
  4. To understand the steps to be followed in undertaking a risk assessment for stress
  5. To identify strategies to tackle and reduce stress for individuals and for the team

This workshop will be delivered by John Griffiths, work2health, Cardiff/

The workshops will be held at the DAWN Centre, 35-37 Princes Drive, Colwyn Bay, LL29 8PD. Tea & coffee will be provided.
